The war against the paparazzi is now affecting photographers who are not even in the business.
A real estate agent said he was sitting in his car outside the home of former Spice Girl Melanie Brown when her bodyguard reached into his car and snatched his camera.
Amado Aguirre said he was only taking pictures of houses in her Los Angeles neighborhood to help him come up with an appraisal of a neighboring house.
But Brown, who was walking her dog with her husband, Stephan Belafonte, thought he was photographing her, so she notified her bodyguard who accosted Aguirre.
A scuffle ensued and Aguirre said he suffered bodily damage.
He is now suing, according to Star Pulse.
Even if he was a celebrity photographer, he would have a strong case against Brown. But the fact that he wasn’t will make him even more sympathetic to a jury if it reaches that level.

Where did non-peace officers get it in their head that they can try to press their own personal laws onto other people?

This strikes close to home for me. As a real estate agent, I’m out in the field almost every day taking pictures. Since reading this blog I’ve become sensitive to the reaction. I always make sure I’m on public property. I’ve avoided several confrontations with private security by smiling, explaining what I’m doing and, of course, handing out my business cards. My very official real estate license helps, too.

Bodyguard? She must have money. The best part is the sexy clothing. Otherwise, she’s nothing to look at and the fake tits look just like fake tits. [Perhaps the fake tits got her a fake guy with a tiny penis that makes lots of money. Who cares.]

This is becoming more of a concern here in NM. They are filming a lot of movies and TV shows, some in a nearby neighborhood. (The state is giving them interest free production loans, why else would they come to this backwater place?) We are seeing a lot of private security around and have to wonder when one of them will spot a camera. They mess with me and it won’t end pretty.
