Miami blogger Burger Beast calls me “the best hype man around” but he is only being modest.

Anybody who has met him knows he is the best hype man around. Or at least the biggest.

This is a blogger who in just over a year has managed to get a front page spread in The Miami Herald’s Tropical Life section as well as several sponsored events at a few local restaurants.

He has a fan base larger than any food blogger in Miami. They not only travel well, they eat even better, which is why the restaurants keep inviting him over.

On Saturday, after much hype on his blog and on Facebook, the Burger Beast met the Quickie’s 4-lb Burger Challenge where he attempted to eat a 4-lb burger in less an hour.

If anybody could do it, it was him. However, he failed. Just like Rocky did in his first fight, which is why I included the song in my video.

He blamed it on the lettuce and tomato on the burger, which he normally doesn’t eat. He is pure carnivore. He also said the bread was very filling. Excuses, excuses.

Will we see a rematch? Perhaps.

But for now, check out my video and photos that were taken by a couple of my photog friends, Justin Rosenberg and Bulldog.
