I agree, it’s a real podunk newspaper. Apparently the holding company is bleeding cash and firing staff left, right and centre. Guess you can see why when you know the rubbish they put out and their “journalistic” standards. Maybe they’re worried that firing Greenbaum may be seen as an admission of guilt and their lawyers have told them not to. Great policy guys. Instead of doing the right thing, trying to get a job back for the guy who was fired and avoiding a massive lawsuit (there must be hundreds of lawyers out there who’d take this on contingency) they’ll dig their heels in and destroy the long-term viability of their business. Not surprising they’re losing money. Who’d invest anything in this bunch of clowns?

They (The Post-Dispatch) also turned off the comments on Greenbaum’s last article, and I was the reason why.

Was I vulgar? Was I threatening? Nope. I offered the man a solution.

I simply suggested that he find the man, apologize, then do whatever he could to help the guy get his job back. My reasoning?

I said in my post that people had committed suicide over far less important things then losing a job and that Greenbaum really didn’t want the man’s blood on his hands.

I also suggested that he did not need any permission from anyone, his boss, his lawyer, nobody, to do so.

My post went up and less then 5 mins. later it was deleted and the comments section locked. It was the last post to make up.

I guess my suggesting he didn’t need to consult his boss is what got the post deleted. I don’t think Greenbaum is even in the loop anymore. It is all Mr. Rose at this point.

So, now they are deleting posts simply because somebody doesn’t agree with them.

I was VERY careful to word my post so as not to offend–and it still gets deleted. And the comments section locked after more then 400 posts. Did I hit a nerve Mr. Rose?

STLtoday seems like some podunk newspaper. I thought Saint Louis metro area had like 3 million people, how could such a low quality newspaper be serving such a large number of people?

Yeah, he wasn’t very conciliatory and I got the impression they think this is much ado about nothing.

I hope the guy comes forward, he should not be afraid to tell the truth. What he did was not a big deal, he should be suing this newspaper and getting his story out there instead of hiding.
