Every Memorial Day Weekend, the cops go crazy on Miami Beach

This is a story I’ll be reporting more about in the future. The way the cops just start arresting people for no reason on Miami Beach during Memorial Day Weekend. They made more than 500 arrests this year.

Most of those were bullshit arrests.

Check out the story I wrote about it on Miami Beach 411.

The problem is, there is an influx of black people on Miami Beach that weekend. Many people can’t handle it. There is a lot of fear and profiling going on.

I’ve been out there several times on Memorial Day Weekend over the years with my cameras and I’ve never had a problem. On the contrary. I had a good time.

The City of Miami Beach spends more than a million dollars paying its cops overtime as well as bringing in cops from other jurisdictions to patrol the streets.

To justify their gross amount of overtime, they end up making mass arrests.

They arrest people for standing on a sidewalk when every weekend, people do just that.

Trust me on this one, it’s a scam.

Here is a video from last year’s Memorial Day Weekend of a guy getting arrested for filming cops. He was standing on a sidewalk.

I’ve been told by a high-ranking officer that many of these arrests are going to be thrown out of court. I’m waiting to see if this is true.

Stay tuned.

It’s a myth that someone is “arrested for no reason.” Whenever an arrest is made, an arrest report must be filed. The report must specify the statutory violation.

As for Officer Socarras, his body language in the photograph puts the lie to your caption. The man is relaxed with one ankle crossed over the other.

Oh please, because a police officer would never lie in a police report; http://www.palmbeachpost.com/localnews/content/local_news/epaper/2009/06/11/0611wpbcop.html?imw=Y

    @miami gardens “officer”

In a way, you’re right. It should be arrested for “no good/valid/truthful reason.”

Since the report must specify the statutory violation, sometimes something has to be made up to fill it in.

Because an officer would never lie on a report, part II:

They DO lie on police reports all the time, but that’s not the only way they can arrest someone with no reason. Officers also have “disorderly conduct” and “resisting arrest” at their disposal if they feel the need to rough someone up and no lie can cover it.

As this blog frequently demonstrates, cops arrest people all the time without legal justification. It is unfortunately pervasive of our system. Specifically, too many cops have too little education, and are given too much power. This creates a virtual powder keg. Throw these cops (especially the young ones) into a disorderly situation like Memorial Day weekend on South Beach, and you have a recipe for disaster and rampant abuse of power.

It would be interesting to see what would happen if the police imposed a mandatory one or two year desk job period on new cops. The idea would be to increase the average age of cops on the street.

don’t you just love when cops protect other cops.. I bet they even share the rubber when they screw someone over with fake charges… Knowing most people can’t afford a good lawyer

Haha its hilarious when a cop makes a statement here just to “once again” protect his fellow officer and ride the blue line. Miami Gardens Officer… dont even go there man, your department isn’t sitting pretty either. Trust me, I know. We pay your buddies off at our “club” to keep things hush and arrest people who make waves. Im not saying YOU, Im saying your department has its share of corruptness.

Хм… Пока это у нас не очень сильно развито, так что придётся подождать.
