A little more than two years ago today, I managed to launch a blog that was intended to clear up misconceptions about my arrest and to document developments in my trial.
I say managed because I was so inept at blogging that I wrote my first post in the comments section, prompting other bloggers to mock and ridicule me.
But that didn’t stop me from coming out swinging against another Miami blogger who had earlier criticized my refusal to obey an unlawful order after my arrest. I have traded jabs with Rick ever since.
The trial was delayed multiple times, leaving me with no real direction on my blog. In fact, for the first eight months, I would go weeks and months without updating it.
It was until I purchased my own domain at the beginning of 2008, switching from a two-column format to a three-column format, that I began taking this blog seriously.
The new format also reset my blog stats back to zero, giving me a clean slate to begin my venture into the blogosphere.
Back then, I was averaging less than 200 page views a day. Now I am averaging more than 2,000 page views a day.
Today, I reached a million page views, a sign that I am doing something right with this blog.
So thank you for reading because without you, this would all be pointless.
I hope you all are still reading by the time I reach 2 million page views, which I hope to accomplish this year.

Congratulations on the million hits, Carlos. However, I’m going to disagree with you and hope that it takes much longer for you to reach 2 million hits.
When cops stop arresting people for exercising their rights, we won’t have much reason to visit your blog, will we?
Maybe you can post an occasional recipe, movie review or etiquette advice so that you won’t lose all your readers when the day comes that cops stop arresting photographers.

It’s nothing to sneeze at, is it?
If you ever start to feel depressed about things, remember this: In the near future, you’re likely to have a larger readership than some newspapers. In fact, it’s possible that you’ll be here long after the lesser newspapers (or even the greater ones, in some cases) are gone.
Newspapers are history, as in the dead past. Except for local-news sections, they exist primarily to promote government and corporate agendas. Sites such as yours are of far greater benefit to society as a whole. You are useful.

Just a friendly comment, not meant to be critical at all. “Page Views” do not equal “Readers” as your subject suggests, that’d be something more like unique IP Addresses. That said, it’s still quite a remarkable milestone and for that I congratulate you. I drop by almost daily now myself…

THANK YOU for this well written and interesting blog. I found it through Injustice in Seattle and I wish I’d found it sooner. Who knew there were so many incidents with cops and photographers? My only complaint is now I’m afraid to take any pictures LOL. Thank you again and keep up the good work.

I think your blog is great & luv the way u shine a light on typical I mean crooked cops. Do wish u would point to the coruption as it goes up to the top of our government because u do a damn fine job blogging on what u focused. Do u have a snail mail 4 a donation?
