Greetings from Mexico

I finally got to my hotel in Merida after traveling all day. We took the long way, from Miami to Mexico City, then to Merida, which is in the Yucatan penisula.

I am here on a journalist assignment, so it’s not all fun and games. However, I’m traveling with a fun group of people.

And before my critics get up in arms, I did get permission from my probation officer.

But when the hell did Mexico get so expensive?

I paid ten dollars for a mediocre sandwich at the airport in Mexico City. Yes, it’s an airport, but I’ve had better and cheaper sandwiches at La Guardia, not to mention MIA.

Anyway, I am paying five dollars an hour for wireless, so I am not going to elaborate or upload photos.

I’m just going to finish my Tecate and hit the town.

    Carlos,

Merida is about two hours from Cancun. If you decide to go to Cancun and you take the “paid” expressway, make sure to keep your camera covered. You won’t be getting probation from those guys, trust me …I know.
You’ll wish you were back with the city of Miami popos after that.
